That's a Wrap!

The big news of the week was that we officially finished the school year!  There definitely isn't as much pomp as they would have had in public school, but it was still exciting.  All the kids are excited to have officially moved to the next grade.  We will still do a couple of things daily through June and then probably take all of July off, so I can get things ready for the next school year.  Who am I kidding...I've already started getting things ready for next year!

This is totally Hyrum!

Hyrum is getting ready for his first Kuk Sool tournament.  I have no idea how it will go, but his instructors think it will be a good experience for him and he will do just fine.  I hope he's not disappointed, because he has lofty goals.

Lila is almost done with her first year of dance.  She opted not to do the recital, but she hinted that she might like to go and watch.  I'm going to see if we can't make it happen.  She also asked if she could do dance again next year.  We might try and different place and see how she does with that.  She is very excited that she is a kindergartener.  She keeps asking me if she is really in kindergarten now.  It's really funny.  She's made a lot of progress in all areas of learning.

I spent some time planning what Liam is going to do next year.  I've had a preschool curriculum since Hyrum was his age, but every year I tweak it to fit our needs.  I feel like this was a big revamp because we have to combine so many subjects and do whole family subjects.  Hyrum was looking at some of the plans and telling Liam all about it, because he's done a lot of it before.  We also took the steri strips off his chin.  It looks great!  Dad of the win.

Speaking of dad for the win.  He took over on Saturday, so I could go to a meeting.  I ended up swinging by Sam's because I was super close and Walmart because the world was ending at our house. Sparkle toothpaste is very important.  As well, he gets to throw the opening pitch at a baseball game this week.  I played catch with him in the backyard.  It's been years since I have played catch and I catch like a girl as much as I throw like a girl.

This week I have some cooking adventures planned.  I am going to try to make freezer hash browns again.  Last time, I read that you could shred them and put them in the freezer.  It didn't work very well, so I am going to put in the extra step of baking.  We are getting low on jam, so this go around I am going to try hot packing the jam and see if it works.  If not, to the freezer they will go!  I am also going to try to make some blueberry syrup for kicks.

Until next week!
