More sickness, but a very happy birthday!

Man...I wish I could say that we had a great week health wise, but that just wasn't our week.  We have had a terrible time kicking whatever we had.  Both Owen and Liam seemed to get a second round of the bug.  Poor Lila got a mild touch of the bug, but managed to be okay on her birthday.  I am so grateful for our little green machine.  It did a great job of cleaning up ALL the messes.  At the end of the week I seemed to have come down with the cold that everyone else had like a month ago.  I stayed home from church today with Owen, because it moved to my ears.  Maybe if we are lucky this will be the worst of it for the winter.  Here's hoping!

We started off the week with Lila's birthday.  I can't believe she is six.  She was super pumped to celebrate and kept asking if we were going to decorate her chair.  Hyrum was a champ and helped me decorate after they went to bed on her birthday eve.  She decided that she wanted German apple pancakes for breakfast, which was a great way to start the morning.  We also open presents first thing in the morning before Tim leaves, so the kids can play with new toys all day.  The favorite besides that bike was a bracelet making kit.

I was very grateful for her dinner and dessert choices.  She wanted spaghetti and berries with mint brownies.  All very easy and fast.  She had ballet on her birthday, so it was busy evening.  I think it was a great day for her.

Hyrum continues to do well in school.  He really enjoys everything, but writing.  I am trying something a little different this year to help him not be so grouchy about it.  This is his year to stretch and get over some of his quirks.  While school doesn't take as long as public school, he is getting older and learning just takes more time.  His life revolves around Kuk Sool and piano.  He spends a lot of his time spinning and kicking or plinking on the piano.

With the weather cooling off a little all the kids have gone outside more.  Liam has enjoyed playing outside and practicing pedaling his bike.  He's also had his fair share of ant bites.  They seem to be coming out in droves.  He is enjoying school too.  I'm always surprised at how kids just soak up knowledge at his age.  He will be starting the alphabet in October and I am excited to see what he learns this year.

Owen is a ham!  His little personality just shines.  He has the funniest forced laughs, he sings like a diva, wants to be a part of everything his siblings do and eat.  He hears anything in the kitchen and his little feet are moving at top speed to make sure he doesn't miss out on anything.  He also talks a mile a minute, but we can't understand anything.  I love that he wants to talk, but I wish I could understand what he is saying.

I'm not sure who it started, but whenever we take a picture of him now he puts his fingers on his head and says cheese.  It's super cute.

The above picture was taken on Italian night.  Hyrum helped me plan meals for this month.  Poor Tim has had and will have some meals that aren't his favorite.  We had sushi and ramen one night this week.  On Friday he wanted real Italian pizza.  Tim and I were the only ones to eat the "real version" because the kids didn't like the sliced mozzarella.  It's all the same!!  I will say the I think I have found a pizza dough recipe.  I froze dough to test and see how well it works or not.  If it turns out well, I have grand plans!  We still have fish tacos coming up (sorry Tim).  The kids really love to go through my Pinterest and dream up meals for me to make them.  It's a great way to get them to try new things, and be happy with what they eat.  I enjoy it too, because I like cooking.

Lila gave a talk in primary today.  Tim helped her and said she did great.  This is the second time that she has gotten up in front of people to speak.  It will be interesting to see if she will speak during the primary program.

We have a very busy week coming up.  Wish us luck!
