December is off and running!

December brought cooler weather.  It is starting to feel like it is winter.  The kids will go outside and come in complaining that their feet are cold jumping on the trampoline.  My thought, "Yep, it's 45 degrees outside."  Luckily, we still have a couple of hours in the later afternoon that is warmer and there isn't any complaining.  That will quickly come to and end.  Google is sending me reminders of this time last year and there was snow at the beginning of January.

Owen spent most of the week sick.  He had a terrible cough, so he got to stay inside with mom.  He wasn't left out as he insisted on wearing his gloves just like the older kids.  It's harder than it looks to drink milk with gloves on.

Lila was great to also do plenty of playing with him.  I was grateful too, because most of his naps were shorter this week due to coughing.  My quiet time window was much shorter this week.  It also ways happens when I have extra that I need to be doing.  This week I started planning for the next six weeks of school.  This time of year is when I start planning for the next school year.  I've decided that we will make some changes with curriculum next year.  I am hopeful that it will help us with the flow of our family life and the stage that we are in.

The kids continue to learn and grow.  They each make their own accomplishments.  This week Hyrum and Lila both had a piano recital.  They both have made so much progress and did very well.  Liam continues to learn as well.  He never wants to be left behind.  He always surprises me with what he has picked up.  He is also very inquisitive and loves to ask those questions.

Owen and I stayed home today.  He enjoyed playing with all the toys.  He was happy to see siblings too.  It's really random, but he loves to wear headphones.  I have some for school.  We are squished, so it tends to get loud even when we are quiet.

We are enjoying this time of year.  The kids love looking at lights and listening to Christmas music.  We are hoping to get up to Bentonville this coming week to go to the Giving Machines.  This is the first year they are in Arkansas.  The machine is located in the Walmart square, which is supposed to be really pretty.  Walmart spares no expense in NW Arkansas.

Until next week!
