Sun and a birthday!

This week was the opposite of last week.  We broke out the shorts, because the kids were so hot outside.  I'm not complaining at all.  This time of year is amazing in Arkansas.  The kids were outside every day this week playing for multiple hours.  With all the bare feet outside, the kids have been reminded they dislike washing their feet.  I've been reminded how much I dislike the in and out.  ALL.  DAY.  LONG.  I guess it makes us even.

The big event of the week was Owen's birthday.  Yay, Tim and I...we have kept another human alive for two whole years!  As he is so little it was pretty low key.  Owen still sleeps in, in the mornings, so we opted to meet Tim at a park near his work for lunch and to open gifts.  We like to give the kids time to play with toys, so we typically open them bright and early in the morning, so Tim can be apart of it.  We got him a bubble mower and it was a hit.  He spent his whole time and the park mowing and continued to mow the yard when we got home.  He's pretty possessive of it and doesn't like anyone else to play with it.  I love it, because he will spent an hour outside mowing in circles.  It's an hour that I don't have to worry about him and he's completely safe and occupied.

That evening we did dinner and the standard chocolate banana muffins.  It's what I have done for all the kids for the first two year.  By three they have opinions on what treat they want...go figure.

More random cuteness for Owen.  He's just getting a blanket ride from dad.  Mom certainly can't do it.

The weather was amazing this week, so I took the time to go for a jog a few times.  The kids enjoy racing and have a formation set to block me from being first.  I'm like whatever...I'm old and slow and there is no way I can keep up with them.  It keeps them motivated and moving.  The kids were also motivated to get school done quicker than usual.  Sun is a major motivator.

School continues to got well.  The kids have done so well this year.  It's crazy that it's almost time for me to get all the curriculum for next year.  We are winding down on extra activities as well, which will be nice.  I'm excited for a slower summer without so much happening.  Well, maybe.  Our summer will be different this year as we are starting our new school year in July.  I'm hopeful that it will go well and the kids will like the change up.

That's our week.  This coming week is the Stake father and son campout, so Tim is going to take the older boys for some male bonding in the woods.  Please pray that they don't bring back poisen ivy...again.
